Beginner’s summer course:
Deep Dive Into Real Time Digital Art & Design
with Touchdesigner
This two-day intensive workshop equips participants with the skills to create immersive digital art and design projects using Touchdesigner and other real-time technologies. Attendees will explore audio-visual applications in interaction design, leveraging CULTVR’s dome, projection gallery space, and XR tools. Guided by the expertise of renowned artists from Studio Above&Below, participants will delve into developing audio and visual experiences for game engines, visual arts and design, VJ’ing, and data-driven projects.
Outcomes will include:
Hands on introduction into Touchdesigner
Development of a rapid prototyped work over the course of 2 days
Gaining skills within audio visual software (with provided example project files) with a focus on free software for early prototyping and making
Possibilities to explore data drive art and design
Industry insights into software and hardware for development of immersive experiences (presentation and workshop).
Chance to prototype works in dome, projection and spatial sound (individual or group exercise)
Insights into developing a professional digital art and design practice (presentation and workshop)
Professional documentation of prototypes
Dates: 26th and 27th of July 2024.
Timeframe: 2 days (14 hours)
10.30-5pm
Cost:
£150 for 2 Day Workshop Pass (£75 for student concessions)
Participants:
12/15 sign up, no prior experience and background required.
Requirements:
Laptop, headphones (both days)
Installation required: Touchdesigner (demo version accepted)
Additionally (but not a must Unreal Engine)
