Mark Eaglen showcases Quantum Foam; an audio-visual work driven by audience interaction. Grounded in research across quantum theory, the work explores the spaces in between; ideas of cause and effect across shifting states of scale and time.
Quantum Foam is an interactive video work that explores cause and effect, temporal perception, and recursive networks. Using real-time processing, the work responds to audio, visual, and sensor inputs, allowing audience interaction. Grounded in quantum theory and biological research, it invites audiences to reflect on time and space while offering a poetic, immersive experience.
Inspired by the artist’s upbringing on the Lleyn Peninsula, the work incorporates themes of scale, astronomy, and the landscape, which deeply influence both the creation and narrative. Built in TouchDesigner with a custom interface using tactile sensors, the work is designed to be translated for immersive dome projection and to explore new performative elements through spatial audio dynamics.
Project selected as part of Catalyst 360º, delivered by CULTVR with support from the Arts Council of Wales.
