Immersive Audio and Spatialisation is a creative tool that can allow you to enhance your music and create new sound experiences. Whatever field of music you are in, if you are a beginner or a more experience musician, or if you’re just interested in the technology, this workshop is for you! Introduction to Immersive Audio is a practice led workshop designed to give you a basic understanding of immersive audio in a creative learning environment that will enable you to use your own understanding of immersive experiences and embed a new way of thinking about sound that you can take away explore after you have left the workshop.
In this workshop you will:
– Set up an 8-channel speaker system
– Explore what it means to work in an immersive environment
– Explore sound, space and materiality
– Create a sound piece for an immersive system
This workshop is delivered by Teddy Hunter, a Cardiff based audio visual artist and electronic musician working in alternative soundscapes, immersive audio and ecology. Her practice takes root in sonic arts, exploring the environment through field recording, installations and immersive audio within performance blending her solo music practice exploring the gentle immersive ambience combining song writing in both Welsh and English, traditional instrumentation and her current forest research within an audiovisual performance.
